Materials and choices

Customers ask us about Indian sandstone a lot, and honestly it remains one of the strongest choices for Essex gardens. It beds well, it weathers well, it looks right. However, porcelain has closed the gap considerably over the past few years.

For certain projects we source Liscannor flagstone, it has a character that manufactured slabs simply cannot replicate. The sub-base preparation for natural stone requires a compacted type 1 MOT layer, sharp sand bedding, and correctly calculated falls for surface water drainage.

Fencing, walling and lawns

Alongside paving work, we install timber fencing and solid garden walling to give the whole space a proper finish. A patio sitting inside a well-built boundary looks and feels like considered work.

For lawns, we lay both roll-on turf and artificial grass depending on what suits the garden and the household. Each install is prepped properly underneath, not just thrown down.
