Portmarnock Guttering

Portmarnock Guttering

Who we are

Based in Portmarnock, County Dublin, we do guttering, fascias, soffits, and roofline work across Dublin’s northside and coast. We know these houses. We know what the sea air does to old cast iron and why uPVC brackets pull loose from soft timber fascia boards after a few winters.

What we do

  • New gutter installation and full replacements in uPVC, aluminium seamless, and cast iron
  • Half-round, ogee, and square-line gutter profiles
  • Downpipe repair, replacement, and hopper head fitting
  • Soffit and fascia replacement in uPVC
  • Leaf guards and gutter mesh
  • Rainwater diverters and water butt connections
  • Re-alignment and bracket re-spacing for proper fall
  • Connection to existing soakaways and gullies

One job that catches people out is the downpipe back plate masonry fixing. Over time those fixings corrode or pull away from the render, and the whole downpipe starts leaning. We sort that properly, not just a squirt of silicone and hope for the best.

Can you work through winter or during rain?

Good question, and worth being straight about. We can work in cold weather, no bother. Gutters don’t know what month it is. However, working on ladders during heavy rainfall or ice is a different matter. We won’t do it. We’d rather rebook than put someone on a slippy roof over a terrace in D13. We keep a sensible schedule through autumn and winter and we’ll always be honest about timing.

Where we work

We cover Portmarnock, Malahide, Swords, Clontarf, Raheny, and most of north County Dublin. We do a fair bit of work around the Clontarf Road area, not far from Marino, where the old terrace houses still have original cast iron that’s worth restoring rather than skipping. Are we going to find every job glamorous? No. But we turn up on time and we leave the site tidy.
