Blanchardstown Guttering
Blanchardstown Guttering
Is your guttering pulling away from the fascia, or have you noticed damp patches appearing inside after heavy rain?
I see it all the time around here. The Atlantic depressions and prevailing south-westerlies we get in Dublin put serious pressure on roofline systems that were fitted years ago and never touched since.
Here is what I get asked most often, so let me answer straight:
What do you actually work on?
Pretty much everything on the roofline. Gutters, downpipes, soffits, fascias, dry verge systems, leaf guards, hoppers, soakaways. If water runs off your roof and needs somewhere to go, that is my patch.
What materials do you use?
- uPVC, light, low-maintenance, colour-stable for years
- Aluminium seamless, no joints to leak, suits longer runs well
- Cast iron, heavy but brilliant for older properties wanting the original look
- Timber fascia boards, traditional finish, takes paint well
- Composite soffit boards, tough, moisture-resistant, grand for exposed gables
What does the actual work involve?
On a full replacement, I check fall angles first. Sure look, half the callbacks I get from other jobs are down to brackets spaced too far apart or a gutter running with no proper fall at all. I also pay close attention to bargeboard end cap mitre joints, because a poorly cut mitre there lets water sit and rot the board from behind. That costs people money down the road.
Dry verge work is something I do a lot of too. It stops birds getting under the ridge and keeps the verge tight against whatever weather blows in off the west.
Where do you cover?
I am based in Blanchardstown and work across Dublin, so give me a ring on 01 264 5710 and we can talk through what you need. No pressure, just a straight conversation.
