How it started

A neighbour once asked me to relay her cracked flags before Christmas.

That job led to three more on the same street. Something about seeing a properly laid patio in a small Essex garden, the kind of quiet transformation it makes, kept me coming back to this work year after year. We have been doing it long enough now that I genuinely enjoy every project.

What we do

We cover the full range of outdoor work across the SS3 postcode and the surrounding villages, laying patios in materials to suit all tastes and budgets.

How we work

Good preparation is where most patio jobs actually succeed or fail, and I am probably more particular about sub-base depth and drainage falls than most people would expect (my wife says I talk about compacted hardcore the way other men talk about football). We do not rush that stage for anyone.

One thing that has become popular in recent years is low-voltage lighting integrated into steps, running cables through the riser before the mortar goes off. It completely changes how a garden feels in the evening, and it costs far less than most people assume.

Why Great Wakering

We are local to this area and we plan to stay local. You might spot our van near St Nicholas Church on a weekday morning, or parked up on one of the village roads waiting on a delivery.
